What a beautiful day for a picnic at the Erwin Municipal Park; and what a wonderful picnic it was!  Thank you Lord.

The bulletins were complete with the Hymns and the prayers for the service which was a wonderful idea.  This year we had the organist, Mark Gibbons, playing the Hymns on a keyboard with help from Pam.  Father David blessed and dedicated a paten and chalice made by his wife, Madlyn.  They will be for future use for picnic services and the children’s Eucharist.  The two pieces were made in honor of Vertie Baker and in memory of Raymond Baker.  The Service was as beautiful as the day…..

Faye Brown and Meredith did a great job with the picnic.  Thank you to Mike Wells, Frank Speer, and Frank Trainer for cooking of the hot dogs and hamburgers.  As expected, the many side dishes and deserts were delicious!  Sarah Martin, daughter to Mindy and Tim, even announced that she helped make their desert cupcakes.  The fellowship of the church family was warm and loving.  Thank you everyone for making today possible.

Jenny Sills will undergo surgery at WakeMed Hospital this coming Thursday.  Please keep her in your prayers.  I visited with Jenny this afternoon and saw the quilt she is working on for the ECW Raffle.  It is a work of art!  Jenny plans to continue working on it this week before going to the hospital and hopefully bring it to church for everyone to see next Sunday.

Have you picked up your raffle tickets to sell for the ECW RAffle?  They are in envelops (25 to an envelope) located on the counter in the Fellowship Hall kitchen.  Please sign your name and the number of the tickets your are taking to sell.
