Sunday, May 5th:
The flowers on the altar for the service were given to the glory of God and in memory of Kathryn Yarick and Ethel Miller by George and Margarete Yarick.

Today is “Church Periodical Club” ingathering.  “CPC” is a ministry of the Episcopal Church dedicated to the written word.  It consists of two main programs:

‘The National Book Fund’ which provides religious and secular materials to those in need of Christian educational literature.  It also provides grants for seminarians of the NC Diocese.

‘The Miles of Pennies Program’ provides solely for children’s and youth literature and programs.

Pew envelopes are provided and will remain during the month of May.  ‘The Miles of Pennies’ container is located in the kitchen throughout the year.

A ‘Thank-you’ letter from the “Thompson Children’s Home” has been posted on the bulletin board.  Please read what our sending in of the ‘Campbell Soup’ labels helps them to provide.

“Congratulations” and “Thank You” goes to Frank Trainer who was voted in as a Vestry member in the replacement of Meredith Fychok, who has moved to Wilson.

The “ECW” had a ‘Cinco DeMayo’ Luncheon today after church service.  Sarah Wells and Kelly Strickland were co-hosting and they did an outstanding job!  The upstairs of the Fellowship Hall was decorated most festively and the food was superb!  “Thank you” goes to Sarah, Kelly and everyone who helped made this Luncheon a success!
