Daughters of the King
Miriam Chapter of St. Stephen’s
Daughters of the King is an Order of women within the Episcopal Church who commit themselves to a “Rule of Life”. A Daughter can be anyone who is looking to grow spiritually and reach out to others with love, prayer and service to spread His Kingdom.
The Miriam Chapter of the Daughters of the King meets on the first Monday of each month following the 5:30 p.m. “Quiet Prayer Time” set aside for the Daughters to join with other members of the congregation to pray for our community and our church family.
All are welcome!
Routine chapter meetings include a short devotion by a member and the reviewing and updating of the prayer request list used for daily prayer. Prayer request cards are located in the church pews for the congregation to fill out and put in one of the two prayer boxes or in the offering plate. Each Daughter will pray for the person or situation daily for 30 days. These requests are confidential and are presented at the altar each Sunday to be lifted to the Lord. These requests will not be read during the Prayers of the People unless it is requested through the church office.
Other activities include a Prayer Shawl Ministry , handling the Christmas card distribution, maintaining the tract rack in the parish hall, and reaching out to meet the needs of others.
For His Sake…, I am but one, but I am one, I cannot do everything, but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do. What I ought to do, by the grace of God I will do.
Lord, what will you have me do?
